Models and computational methods for image and signal processing and statistical methods for multidimensional and complex data analysis
This Project focuses on some theoretical and practical aspects of statistical and mathematical analysis and processing of signals, images, videos and multidimensional data. In addtion, particula emphasys is devoted to the development of novel statistical methods and algorithms for data science.
Specifically, the main topics of this research line are: signal and image enhancement, restoration, compression and segmentation; content-based data mining; shape description and representation; multiresolution analysis; color image processing; content management, investigation, analysis and information extraction from heterogeneous, complex and multidimensional data.
The main application fields are: Cultural Heritage, Environment, Defense and Security, Health, Biology, Materials, 3D printing.
