Mathematical Paradigms of Climate Science
2013-06-24
The aim of this meeting is to foster interaction between climate scientists and mathematicians that are active in various fields of interest for climate science, such as dynamical systems, partial differential equations, control theory, stochastic systems, and numerical analysis.
INDAM Workshop on Mathematical Paradigms of Climate Science
ROMA, JUNE 24-28, 2013 Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica INDAM
Scientific and Organizing Committee
Fabio Ancona, University of Padua
Piermarco Cannarsa, University of Rome Tor Vergata
C.K.R.T. Jones, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Alessandro Portaluri, University of Turin
The INDAM workshop will include ten overview lectures (50 minutes), five from climate scientists and five from applied mathematicians, sixteen research lectures (30 minutes) and panel discussions. The overview lectures will be addressed to a general audience as an introduction to a broad area of research and should serve as a bridge to experts from different domains. The research lectures should address specific topics which could be of interest for the various expertise present in the workshop.
