Higher Order Category Theory Models of the Complexity in Mathematical, BioMedical and SocioPolitical Sciences

2019-10-22

The Theory of Higher Order (Infinity-)Category Theory is a candidate to offer both new fundamentals of Mathematics (e.g. Volterra Legacy) and a unifying framework to address strategic challenges (e.g. Immunology, Sustainable Development and CyberPolitics). A brief overview of the state of the art and personal research will be offered. J.F. Mascari ore 10 - Aula Seminari IAC (n°116) 1°Piano - Via dei Taurini 19 - Roma

Understanding the complexity at multiple scale levels of the structure, dynamics and evolution of large systems requires a transdisciplinary approach that includes mathematics, logic, computer science, physics, biology, medicine and economics. From a mathematical modelling of resilient and living systems, the approaches adopted so far include differential and agent-based models, both deterministic and stochastic. In Arithmetic, the Queen of Mathematics, the open problem of the discovery of prime number distribution is a laboratory for finding patterns in an infinite system of data for the detection of a structure, of a higher-order dynamics ( evolution).

The Higher Order Category Theory is a candidate to offer both new fundamentals of Mathematics (e.g. Volterra Legacy) and a unifying framework to address strategic challenges (e.g. Immunology, Sustainable Development and CyberPolitics).
