Relativistic hydrodynamics is an incredibly successful approach to study a large variety of problems that range from relativistic collisions of heavy ions to the inspiral and merger of neutron stars.
I will review the basic mathematical and numerical frameworks for the solution of the equations of relativistic hydrodynamics in arbitrary spacetimes and discuss how the corresponding solutions can be used to answer fundamental questions in physics and astrophysics.
