Sportello Matematico per l’Industria Italiana is pleased to announce the CXXIV European Study Group with Industry. Study Groups with Industry are internationally established ways to technology transfer of Mathematical Technologies towards Industry. August 29 – September 2, 2016
These workshops gather Enterprises and Mathematicians to actively discuss on real innovative industrial problems. During a weeklong workshop, enterprises have the opportunity to present one of their business problems to an audience of international researchers with strong expertise in Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Probability. The participating researchers will work jointly on each proposed problem finding new outcomes and promising solutions. The results are then presented in the final day of the event.
The benefits for a company participating in a Study Group are:
Exploring new fresh ideas and solutions to its industrial problems;

Establishing strong and productive collaborations with international researchers in Mathematical Technologies;

Information for Academics
Academic Researchers are encouraged to attend the Study Group and contribute to solve innovative industrial problems without the payment of any fee. Academic participants are PhD Students, Research Fellows as well as Professors. They have expertise in Mathematical fields such as: Numerical Analysis, Operational Research, Optimization, Statistics, Mathematical Finance, Computer Science among others.
Most important: they want to challenge themselves with real world problems that will be presented for the first time to an audience of Mathematicians.
Information for Companies
Mathematical Technologies can help companies in solving their industrial problems from a wide variety of sectors: Mechatronics, ICT, Logistics and Transport, Health and Biomedical etc. If you need to reduce production costs, innovate your processes or improve your services, then present your business problem to the 124th ESGI. Our Team will support you in presenting your case at no cost and without any commitment but preserving the confidentiality of the information. The participation fee will be modulated according to the size of your company. You just need to be present at the meeting during the first day (problem presentation) and the last day (final presentation of the results). A final report on each problem will be prepared in the weeks following the event.
