The CNR Research Area is located inside the "Polo Scientifico Universitario" at Sesto Fiorentino, a few kilometres northwest of Florence, near the Vespucci airport and the A1 and A11 motorways exits.

BY CAR

When driving on the A1 motorway take the exit towards "Firenze Nord" and head towards Firenze (A11/E76). When driving on the A11 motorway take the exit towards "Sesto Fiorentino" and head towards Firenze (A11/E76).

In both cases head towards "Sesto Fiorentino" turning left into "Via del Cantone". Enter the roundabout and go all the way round onto "Via del Cantone" in the opposite direction. Proceed straight ahead and turn right onto "Via delle Idee" heading for "Polo Scientifico". At the end of "Via delle Idee" turn left onto " Via Generoso Patrone". Turn left againg onto "Via Madonna del Piano". The Area di Ricerca is the first building area on the right.

BY BUS

ATAF bus routes reaching the "Polo Scientifico Universitario" include route number 59 and route number 66. The bus stop is in front of the "Area di Ricerca".

BY TRAIN

The closest railway station, Zambra, is located on the Firenze-Prato-Pistoia line. From there you can walk to the Area di Ricerca in about 15 minutes.

From the Firenze Rifredi railway station you can take bus number 59. The bus stop is located right outside the station in Via Vasco di Gama (Exit the station on the track 9 side).

From the Sesto Fiorentino railway station you can take bus number 66. The bus stop is located on the square in front of the station.

BY PLANE

The Aeroporto Vespucci airport is located in Peretola near the Area di Ricerca. From the airport you can reach the Area di Ricerca by Taxi.

BY BIKE

BIKE PATH CASCINE-POLO SCIENTIFICO. Once you arrive at the bottom of the Cascine [park], cross the small bridge over the stream [Mugnone], ride along the Arno for a few metres, pass under the Viadotto dell'Indiano and turn right at the first railway underpass . Take Via S. Biagio a Petriolo, and continue on it as far as the Via Pistoiese. Cross Via Pistoiese at the traffic light and, having taken Via S.Biagio a Petriolo, turn left into Via di Peretola. Then after 50 metres, turn right into Via della Cupola. At the next crossroads turn left into Via Michelacci, which continues until it comes into Via Pratese. Here, cross at the pedestrian crossing and take the bicycle lane on the footpath turning left. At the first crossroad (Via dei Giunchi), turn right onto the bicycle lane, which here is independent of the footpath. Continue straight ahead towards IKEA, pass the bridge over the motorway and, riding alongside the airport, turn into the Polo Scientifico. The CNR Research Area is on the right.
